INTRODUCTION A wide range of post-radiotherapy vascular lesions can occur, ranging from Benign lymph-angiomatous papule of the skin (BLAP), to Atypical vascular Lesions (AVL) and post-RT angiosarcomas (Post-RT AS). The relationship between benign and malignant post-RT breast lesions and their prognostic features is still controversial. AIM OF THE STUDY is to investigate the relationship between benign and malignant mammary post-RT vascular lesions and to define post-RT AS prognostic features. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy four cases of post-RT vascular lesions were obtained and stained with antibodies against CD 34, CD 31, D2-40, Ki67, and c-Myc. Mutational analysis was performed by deep sequencing for the following genes KRAS, NRAS, HRAS, BRAF, PIK3CA, TP53, NOTCH1, PTEN, CDKN2A, EGFR, AKT1, CTNNB1, hTERT, PTPRB. Post-RT AS were graded according to a previously reported breast AS grading system. RESULTS AVL cases showed a low number of mutations in HRAS and hTERT, while post-RT AS showed a high mutation frequency for EGFR, TP53, HRAS, and hTERT. On follow-up, all BLAP and AVL were alive with no evidence of disease. Post-RT AS 5-years overall survival declined with the increase of grade as follows 85.7% in G1, 83.3% in G2 and 40.4% in G3. CONCLUSIONS Our findings confirm that BLAP and AVL have a good prognosis, while post-RT AS prognosis is strongly related to histological grading. On molecular analysis, AVL and post-RT AS shared mutations in HRAS and hTERT, suggesting a relation between the two lesions. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/tolebrutinib-sar442168.html This article is protected by copyright. DESIGN Qualitative studies were meta-synthesized using the steps outlined by Sandelowski and Barroso. DATA SOURCES Six databases (PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Scopus and ProQuest) were searched for qualitative studies from each database's inception to 24 June 2019. REVIEW METHODS Studies were critically appraised using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program tool. Qualitative data were extracted, meta-summarized, then meta-synthesized. RESULTS Fourteen studies were included and four themes were identified (a) negative feelings and psychological difficulties, (b) role strain and role conflict with multiple sources, (c) coping strategies that buffered negative feelings and psychological difficulties and (d) support needs to enhance mental health. CONCLUSION Fathers reported poor mental health and expressed needs to enhance their mental health across the perinatal period. Future studies can focus specifically on paternal mental health. The development of theory-guided, family inclusive, technology-based healthcare services are needed to manage mental health. Healthcare providers can promote positive mental health to prepare fathers, increasing their awareness to manage their mental health and to seek timely help. IMPACT Problem-focused coping (i.e. support and problem-solving with partners and childcare involvement) helped fathers to buffer their negative feelings and psychological difficulties. Future studies should focus on paternal mental health rather than on general fathering experiences. Healthcare providers should focus on promoting positive mental health and well-being. Policymakers should create awareness on paternal mental health across the perinatal period. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.In this work, we present an optical transit DEP flow cytometer for parallel single-cell analysis. Each cell's dielectric property is inferred from velocity perturbations due to DEP actuation in a microfluidic channel. Dual LED sources facilitate velocity measurement by producing two transit shadows for each cell passing through the channel. These shadows are detected using a 256-pixel linear optical array detector. Massively parallel analysis is possible as each pixel of the detector can independently analyze the passing cells. A wide channel (?18 mm) was employed to carry many particles simultaneously, and the system was capable of detecting the velocity of over 200 cells simultaneously. We have achieved analysis rates for 10 ?m diameter polystyrene spheres response exceeding 250 per second. With appropriate calibration, this DEP cytometer can quantitatively measure the dielectric response. The dielectric response (Clausius-Mossotti factor) of viable CHO cells was measured over the frequency range of 100 kHz to 6 MHz, and the obtained response matches the previously measured values by our group. The DEP cytometer uses simple modular components to achieve high throughput label-free single-cell dielectric analysis and can begin analyzing particles within 10 s after starting to pump the sample into the channel. © 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We assessed the global incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) related to CLD (primary liver cancer [LC] and cirrhosis). We obtained the data from the 2017 Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study. In 2017, there were 2.14 million liver-related deaths (2.06 million-2.30 million), representing 11.4% increase since 2012 (16.0% increase in LC deaths; 8.7% increase in cirrhosis deaths). LC and cirrhosis accounted for 38.3% and 61.7%, respectively, of liver deaths (LC and cirrhosis deaths were related to HBV [39% and 29%]; HCV [29% and 26%]; ALD [16% and 25%]; and NAFLD [8% and 9%]). Between 2012 and 2017, age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), age-standardized death rate (ASDR), and age-standardized disability-adjusted life-year (ASDALY) rate increased for LC from 11.1 to 11.8, 10.1 to 10.2, and 250.4 to 253.6 peopyright. MA administration in rats for 5-10 days between postnatal days (P)6 and 20 produces cognitive deficits. The purpose of this study was to determine if extending MA administration by 5 days within P6-20 would exacerbate allocentric (Morris water maze) and egocentric (Cincinnati water maze) learning deficits. Sprague Dawley female and male offspring (split-litter design) were administered saline (SAL) or MA (10 mg/kg) four times daily from P6 to 20 to create four groups (a) SAL from P6 to 20, (b) MA from P6 to 20 (MA6-20), (c) MA from P6 to 15 (MA6-15), or (d) MA from P11 to 20 (MA11-20); the latter groups received saline on days they did not receive MA. Egocentric, allocentric, and conditioned freezing tests began on P60. The MA6-15 and MA6-20 groups showed egocentric deficits, all MA groups had allocentric deficits but no differences in conditioned freezing compared with SAL controls. The MA6-15 and MA6-20 groups had similar deficits in learning and memory that were larger than in the MA11-20 group.
